| Ambani groom was fat shamed but imagine the outrage if his wife was the overweight one. Why are we still fat shaming people and why its worse for women? Ageism is also rampant. How would it all change? |
| It won't. People shame for everything. Ive seen plenty of fit people shamed and plenty of skinny people shamed. People are just judgy jerks to anyone who doesn't look like them. The anonymity and ease of the internet have just made it all worse. |
| I think aging politicians are making ageism more acceptable because if people can criticize them, it would be fine to criticize other elderly folks. |
If those old politicians weren't such obnoxious self-absorbed power-hungry idiots, it would help. |
| I agree. The obese comments about the groom are over the top unkind. |
If Radhika had looked like Anant there wouldn’t have been any wedding to speak of. |
This discrepancy may bother you but clearly did not bother anyone else who attended. |
| Because they have zero excuse to be fat. It isn’t healthy to be that overweight. |
| Because fat is gross to look at. |

I don't get it OP but you are right. I have two good friends who are big and they are both pretty healthy and I think attractive. It's a different kind of attractiveness than what a skinny person can have (and not all skinny people are attractive) but they are absolutely good looking. I don't get why that is such a paradox for some people.
I think we made a mistake in equate health and weight in this country for so long. It's more complex than that and while there are health concerns associated with being obese there are also health concerns related to being underweight. I'm sure I'll be ripped apart by all the fat-hating posters on this website but I think I'm right. |
| The people in that thread going on and on about his weight are cruel, I feel sorry for their children. |
Then why do people in Asia live so long while nearly all being skinny? |
Grow up. If you dislike someone or something, you don't need to publicly shame them. Keep those nasty thoughts and comments to yourself. |

Shane is a healthy part of having a society. It encourages compliance and being a part of the community, doing the right things to fit in rather than the wrong things to ostracized.
Vices should not be celebrated. We are more tolerant of them now than we used to be. But why is that a good thing? |
I think you are right, too. DP |
