Fullness of vulva during ovulation

Anonymous
This might sound/read strange, but maybe I have a strange/unique problem. During supposed ovulation time (CM looking as should, OPK giving positive result), my inner and outer labia become more full, which I believe is also another sign of ovulation approaching. At this time, though, the fullness that happens also seems to cause a "closing in" on the vaginal area; so, instead of say helping to broaden the area, it seems to make it more challenging (for me) to be penetrated. I already have trouble with penetration, possibly due to vaginismus, so anything that causes more "tightening" somehow clearly isn't helpful. I'm just wondering if others have such a symptom/sign, too, and how they cope. Thanks.

I think the fullness is due to increased blood supply to the region, which is supposed to make you want to have sex more. Have you tried Pre-seed to help with the penetration?

I agree with PP about the Preseed. I had a similar problem and I used the Preseed and it worked really well. Make sure to use the applicator and I also had DH put a little bit externally on himself and me. It worked like a charm.

Interesting, thanks PPs. No, I've not tried Pre-seed, but will check it out ...

(OP again) I'm now at my next month's cycle, and it's frustrating (again, am I the only one?) The fullness again, like the usual, the CM is looking as should, and I'll do the OPK soon. But, what good is it all if the area is more tight and I can't get anything in! I know being anxious about performing doesn't help, but I already do have the extra challenge of penetration. So, at this exciting time of the month, when others can happily try away, I'm now looking at myself thinking, can I make it happen? Wish this were easier.

OP, you can also work with a physical therapist to help with the penetration. Restore Motion in Rockville is one group that specializes in this.

Thanks 18:04, it's good to explore options. I do wish I could just this under control on my own, with it being such a personal problem, rather humiliating problem. It makes me feel like a failure, so that itself I know is not boosting my confidence in any way.

Don't be embarrassed - it is not uncommon, which is why there are PTs who specialize in it!

(OP again) ... Well, it's difficult to not be embarrassed/ashamed, but I agree, it does seem there are those therapists, for example, who might offer help.

I'm now officially a few days following suspected ovulation time and the fullness is definitely gone! Now more shrunken labia area, and stick CM... I know, nothing new for anyone to read about. When women can achieve penetration basically at any stage of their cycle, that's a wonderful achievement (I think!) ...
