If US Soccer can't outdo ECNL on the girls side they'll just create their own semipro league that funnels into NWSL. This will take away from the youth to college pipeline.

Not the PP, but this is factual. Its years in the making so don't worry your ECNL investment is safe, but for 2012s and younger it could get interesting...

Recent ownership buy-in at Angel City FC values the team (one team alone) at $250 million. That probably puts the valuation of all the teams somewhere north of $2 billion. I don't think MLS has the cash or the desire to buy out NWSL juts to start an NWSL Next for girls.

MLS has no interest in a girls or women side for obvious reasons.
