| I'm purging the contents of my freezer - is there a good use for veggies that are past their prime? I've rescued the fruit by making syrups to add to iced tea or seltzer, but I don't even know why I have so many frozen veggies. |
| What types of veg? Maybe a blended soup or puree? |
| No. Figure out what the frozen veggies cost you, decide your time/freedom is worth that, and dump the dessicated stuff in the compost |
| One year past the use by date. I just went through my freezers, too, and looked it up on usda site. |
Thats along the lines of what I'm thinking. There's a mix - carrots, broccoli, spinach...(The spinach I actually do regularly use, but sometimes buy when I already have so there's an abundance) |
| I don't mind frozen in a curry, thrown in at the very end |

I might add an onion & a couple of bay leaves and simmer them to make vegetable broth, then strain and discard the solids. If I'm feeling ambitious.
Otherwise they'd probably be heading for the compost bin. |
