Bras and swimsuit tops for tiny 12 yr old w large bust

Help! I have been meaning to post this for a while and another poster’s post about her daughter’s (similar) body shape reminded me to do it.

My daughter is 12 and very petite. She is about 4 ft 8 and 82 lbs, but also very curvy. She has had her period for just over a year and the ped says that her adult height will likely be between 4’10” and 5’.

I tried to get her measured at two different (reputable) places for bras and the women didn’t know what to do with her.. they said she was probably like a 26C/D or similar but there was nowhere to find her a bra in that size.

We mostly stick to sports bras and they are ok, but the bigger she gets the more we have issues with the band being (far) too big and gaping in the back. Same with bathing suits.

Any ideas? I feel sorry for her!

I’m so sorry. I am petite with a large bust and it’s really hard when you are little. Even finding clothes can be tough. For the bra, herroom.com has band sizes down to 28 (I just looked), so you can start there. If she’d be a 26D try a 28c. Also try a bunch of brands and sizes. Good bras will cost more. I also remember sewing my bra bands to make them shorter and a seamstress can do this too (meaning any place you go for dry cleaning). Lastly, just a tip - as she gets older when it comes to shopping, it may be better to order a bunch of stuff and return vs trying to find stuff in stores. This is still easier for me and I don’t have all the hang ups of a teen. Good luck!

Title 9 has some good options via bra size. Roxy works well for my similar size daughter - sometimes!

I wonder if you could find a bra that fits in the cups and get a Tailor to tighten the band?
