What iready or SOL scores does your school require for advanced 5th grade math? |
I thought it was a statewide standard. Like 500? |
Schools are supposed to give a standard assessment at the beginning of the year that helps determine if they are a candidate for advanced math. SOL scores are also a consideration |
Every school does it a but differently and math standards are changing massively this year. This is how a high preforming ES does it: chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://springhilles.fcps.edu/sites/default/files/media/inline-files/Advanced%20Mathematics%20Information%20Session.pdf |
That is the Pass Advanced on the SOL score. Many schools do look for kids to pass the SOL advanced for advanced math but that is not a statewide requirement. And it cannot be used for 3rd grade advanced math because kids do not take the SOL until 3rd grade. |
>90th percentile on iReady math or pass advance on the SOL in the prior year gets you an automatic push in to advanced math at CWES. |
Oh, OK. I think our school used the "pass advance" in math SOL as a primary filter for advanced math |
Our school uses iReady for advanced math in 3rd for kids who aren't in level IV already (school is a center). |
