We loved Beauvoir—especially half-day—for my rising pre-k student. It was such a sweet camp. We live in Penn Quarter downtown and it was worth the drive. Lots of sprinkler play and the counselors seemed so attentive. It was well-run.
We have a week at GDS summer camp next week. How are the other camps going? |
My kids liked their time in a SPARK Business Academy camp but came back complaining (!) about vast amounts of time watching videos, and not videos related to the camp topic. Bluey, Gravity Falls, Tom and Jerry, etc., some of which were IMHO too "old" for the younger kids at the camp. |
DS loved 2 weeks at VisArts. He’s tried a lot of camps and this is the first camp that he’s asked to go back to. Absolutely recommend for anyone who enjoys doing craft/art projects. Decent communication from the camp. I easily got questions answered prior to camp. |
DD9 loved the rock creek park horse camp. If only it were less expensive! |
We’ve done Morningside stables camps, all locations past 3 years. My child loves the Linthicum heights camp during the week but we were all sorely disappointed at the camp show. It was barely drizzling then stopped but they basically cancelled the show in favor of having counselors show us the horses in their stalls, had the kids brush a horse for 5 minutes and then rode a water barrel for 15 seconds to model two skills. Super frustrating end to an otherwise great week. Wouldn’t do that location again - other locations have a big indoor arena in case of rain. |
First time doing Headfirst at St. Albans. My son has been having fun and says the teachers are very nice. About two photos a day in the app and they are super responsive by phone and email. Pretty happy with the experience! |
Disappointed by the camps run through Montgomery college. My daughters each took STEM Related camps and they both spent way too much time watching videos with fewer hands on activities than advertised. The whole operation felt very half baked. |
Very happy with Bretton woods adventure camps for DD7. But wish we could minimize the time on the bus |
My 10 year old DD loved the culinary camp at at Sidwell (run by DEAN)! |
My daughter really loved Circle Yoga’s camp. It wasn’t just yoga - included outdoor time at local spray parks, arts and crafts, journaling. She wouldn’t want to do it the whole summer, but it is perfect for a week or two. |
Which location? Disappointed to hear this feedback as I was considering their coding classes for DC next summer. |
+1 DS is in the science themed camp at St Albans and has been loving it. Drop off and pickup are a breeze and he comes home tired and happy, and says the activities are really run and likes the staff a lot. |
First year at Levine and we loved it. I wish we could just have done that all summer. |
looove Howard County Community College AND visarts. Our 4th or 5th year doing visarts and it's consistently amazing and well run! |
DD is in the chem class. She said it was not good, very boring, and the classroom breaks were supervised. These are 15-17 yr olds. DD just stopped attending. |
