USL Youth (Formerly Super Y) Weather Info?

With the weather over the next few days, just wondering if anyone knows where to go to check for weather cancellation in Montgomery County for USL Youth/Super Y games.
thanks

I’m not sure it’s posted on public site. It seems that it’s communicated with clubs directly. At least, that was the case, I believe, a few weeks ago when there were cancellations due to heat.

It is location dependent, every field is different...plan to show up and play unless your coach (or team manager) says otherwise. The home team would have to communicate with the away team (usually the day of) of a cancellation. Only the ref delays the game on site due to Wx.

Regarding excessive heat, that could go against US Soccer guidelines (as outlined in the required safesport training), often the Coaches are responsible for making the call at the location.... that being said, some don't even know the guidelines. Anything above 92 degrees on the wetbuld index (combo of temperature and humidity), and the players should not be allowed to play...but this is violated all the time.

Link to US Soccer Guidelines that USL adhears to: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/57125d942eeb814000fb1ca5/t/5a1c4fdc8165f542d6d78d16/1511804893401/1609024+Heat+Guidelines.pdf

We attended a brutal late summer tournament 2 years ago, that was mostly above Wetbulb Conditions and the tournament organizers didn't cancel anything, just added the water breaks.

Discuss this with your club or coach of you feel like kids are playing in unsafe conditions. And if they continue to play, it can be reported through safesport channels https://uscenterforsafesport.org ~or~ VYSA in Virginia: https://www.vysa.com/report-a-concern/

This covers a lot in Montgomery County, but not everything. Soccerplex has their own website, for instance.

Not sure where to look, but they canceled all games after 11am a couple of weeks ago when it was crazy hot.

It's god awful hot. There are other things your kid can be doing. Hopefully you will learn from this and choose something better for your kid next summer.

That was our experience too. Summer is too unpredictable, and most of the time practices get cancelled due to heat and games get rescheduled to some off ball time.

Wondering if this is unique to your club? We've not had any practices cancelled; only dates/times shifted due to weather (excessive heat), and everything clearly communicated. And only one game rescheduled bc of heat. Obviously, the competition locally is hit or miss with USL-Y, but we are enjoying the experience for our U11.

Same with us. We do not have a beach house or anything like that, so we were flexible, but if you are expecting them to schedule around your vacation plans, it is probably not the place for you
