https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/40480333/usa-coach-gregg-berhalter-fired-copa-america I wonder if the brain trust at US soccer will actually spend the money needed to bring in a big name coach or will they just rehire Gregg? |
| Such great news to wake up to today. |
meet ur new coach Bregg Gerhalter |
| finally |
| They'll hire someone middling and then be shocked when the team continues to suck |
This firing is more of an indictment against the current leadership vs against the coach. They rehired him. I guess there was no one else? |
| The fact the he was even the coach to begin with tells you all you need to know about the USSF and why things are the way they are with regards to soccer in this country |
You coach the talent you have. Who is the last American creator? The best players on our team are coming off the bench for top clubs. Some are there to sell jerseys to American fans. None are impactful |
| They don't have money to hire elite coach. Simple as that. |
Yes that $200 million training center is where the money should be spent! |
| It's Cherundolo. Just you wait for that uninspiring hire. |
I heard it was Vlatko Andonovski or an ECNL coach from one of the local teams in the area. Though many of the ECNL have already turned down the job. |
The current US Men's team has talent above the teams results. |
They certainly have a good way of hiding it |
Berhalter was out of his depth. He gets out coached in each game. Berhalter style is outdated and predictable. He joy sticks players and the more seasoned coaches walk all over him. You can not tell me Panama had more talent vs the US. |
