POA and wills

What's the cheapest way to get the powers of attorney and wills done for a small family without screwing it up? We don't need anything complicated, but I the free forms on the internet are too confusing for me. What's the next step up from that, is there an online services that holds your hand through the process?

I’d suggest a local general practice lawyer who’s been in business a good while.

How can I find such a person?

Just write on a piece of paper “wife gets it, pls don’t waste money on a funeral for me” and then sign it and put it in your nightstand.

Lol I am the wife. I guess I should write it, have him sign it and put it on his nightstand. He wouldn’t even notice.

Will vary depending on where you live. In VA you can prepare a holographic will yourself. Just need witnesses to sign it. For power of attorney templates are available online so only cost is having it motorized.

Other option is have them done by an attorney. Power of attorney $200, simple will $600 or so.
