I feel like this summer in dmv is a lot more hotter than prior few years. I am not sure if it is just me or it is just signs of global warning. I feel a bit bad to sign up my boy at outdoor camps for 9 weeks this summer even though he has not complained yet. I don't have that feelings in the prior years when he does outdoor camps at dmv.
I am wondering if I should consider indoor camps next year if weather might be more hotter next year due to global warning. Any thoughts? |
| Yes. You can look at historical temps. |
|
CWG tweeted today “DC has hit at least 97 for the sixth day in a row--that's tied for the second longest streak on record.”
So, yes. |
|
“More hotter”?
Do better, OP. |
| I've lived here >15 years. Hell yes this is the hottest, continuous summer Temps I've experienced |
|
The denier will say this is "just the way it is here" but look at the historical numbers. Yes, it is getting hotter and will continue to get hotter.
I no longer do outdoor camps for my children after one fainted last summer (the other seems to be fine with the hot weather but I"m not chancing it). It does make summers more of a challenge. Luckily we are planning to move north in a couple of years. |
| Honestly it doesn’t feel worse than usual. We have awful awful summers here. It is what it is. |
I mean yes, it is always hot. That doesn't mean that this year hasn't been hotter. For reference, in 2023 July had one day over 97 and 14 days over 90. In 2024, we have had 6 days over 97 so far (and next week may double that number). We have had 8 days over 90 and likely make it to 14 by the end of the week next week with two more weeks to go. 2023: https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/washington/20006/july-weather/327659?year=2023 |
| This weather is not uncommon in July. |
|
Review the trends. It is the hottest summer ever. Next summer will be the hottest summer ever.
This summer is the coolest summer you will ever experience in your lifetime. |
| Yes, this summer is brutal and I would look for indoor camps |
You're a jerk. |
| It is due to El Niño. France, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy are getting heavy rain this year. |
I bet OP speaks more languages than you do |
| Yes and this is the end of outdoor camp in this area i believe. I will only sign my kids up for indoor camp from now on. |
