DC Way Academy?

What’s their rep? Any reason not to just stick with them at the younger age groups if we’re based out of Capitol Hill? No aspirations of playing in college or anything for my kid, just looking for a good atmosphere, solid basics and opportunities to play without having to make a crazy commute. Anyone know if they have a set order for the colors for their teams (e.g., black, orange, white)? I assume they’re somewhat hierarchical, but they seem very flexible/random on placement, which isn’t consistent with what I’ve heard about with other clubs.

It's travel lite.
Their rec program and after school program is great but the development and quality over about age 10 is lacking.

Travel light actually sounds great to me as long as the coaching is decent.

We found the coaching to be very lackluster. There are a few good coaches but also some real duds. Was unfortunate to find out ours was a dud after paying travel fees for a year.

Thanks for the feedback. What age/gender was your kid? Just trying to figure out which coaches are worth avoiding without naming names. Or can you mention any coaches you thought were particularly good?

Any info on what the team colors mean, if anything?

Check out Washington Capital United too. They're close. We have experience with two coaches there, Jon Orlando and Sam Matthews, and think both are great.

Same. Boys side. Our girl left after less than a year because kids were treating it like rec soccer and missing half the practices and games. It's hard to improve as a squad when only half the team takes it seriously

Bumping because I am also curious about the colors and whether they are predictable/meaningful.

Black
Orange

White.
Looks like they made up a few more rec colors too? Diamond?

Have had a great experience with them, in my experience the coaches are terrific and set the right tone in terms of positivity, fun, competitiveness, and sportsmanship. Road games are typically within 1hr of DC, so commitment is reasonable.
