I have a 12 year old swimmer, turning 13 this fall. He’s got a mix of AA and AAA times. Our current club just announced a coaching change that he’s very unhappy with. I know we’re late in the game, but what would prospects be to switch to RMSC Rockville? Would he fit into the Select Junior group with those times? Does that group ever have space? Any reviews of the coaches? |
yes he will on select with the head coach. |
Can you elaborate? You’re saying he would make that group and there’s usually space? |
Most likely, but I would email him. Rockville has a lot of practice slots so I am sure there is space on the select group. |
He has to apply. It will really depend on slots available. It is the hardest site to get into. Also try Germantown. |
Tryouts for pools is open now. Have him try out to multiple pools. |
If he’s transferring from another club, I would suggest emailing Dave Greene. |
He coaches MCSL right? |
The coach will do his best to make him peak at 14 and have no regard for his long term development. To satisfy his own ego |
They’ve been winning all their meets by 200 this summer, so it might be hard for most kids to make A meets, but if your kid is getting AAA times, he will probably make A meets |
This team is truly difficult to get onto past a certain age. Almost impossible. Best go now if hi want a chance. |
What IMX score makes A meets? |
Yeah he coaches all Divsion A teams |
Yes, the RMSC Rays |
Dave does not coach any MCSL teams. |
