| I'm not sure if this post was started elsewhere. I work in downtown DC and am trying to get a feel for how traffic looked today to see if I should physically go to work tomorrow or telework the next two days. I commute from North Bethesda and would consider catching the train, but prefer driving. How bad was it for those who are downtown? |
Please telework. It is terrible and the last thing we need to do is have people come in who don't have to. |
| It took me almost double time this morning from Arlington to the Hill. |
| DH commutes from McLean and turned around and came back home today. Roads into the DC just weren’t moving. |
| Into DC. not *the* DC |
| I took the metro rather than driving. Was glad I did. |
| How will the rest of the week be? Thursday? and Airport? |
|
wednesday and thursday are the actual meetings. fed triangle and mt vernon metro stops are closed. it is currently much faster to walk in 95° weather than drive anywhere.
OPM has given unscheduled telework all week for a good reason. |
| It was rough this morning at 7:45. Recommend staying home if you can. |
| It was horrific both ways. Parking too. |
| I went at 7am and it was perfectly fine! Go early. |
| Telework! Not worth the hassle. It should be bad through Thursday. |
I was thinking of leaving at 6 and taking Clara Barton instead of GW Pkwy to avoid certain streets. I deeply dislike the metro and will just see how it goes tomorrow driving. |
| What about the commute home? |
| I came into the city from Tysons around 11:30 for a meeting and left around 2:30 and it was fine inbound and maybe slightly more congested earlier than usual outbound. I was expecting it to be a nightmare. Avoiding the area around Mt Vernon Square/Convention Center and the WH are key. And, if you can, maybe come in late and stay late? |
