Looking into Katherine Thomas School in Rockville as a non-public option for CIEP.
It would be for a 2nd grader. It seems great on paper. Any current families here? Pros and Cons? Thanks in advance |
| We are there but no longer in ES. I think it's a good program. I think highly of Shawna Page. It's certainly better than public in that all the specials teachers know how to deal with kids with needs. Autism is not their main focus, if that's your kid's issue. |

My DC moved on from the lower school, but it was a solid program—very caring and well-resourced. There are lots of interventions available for learning disabilities.
There has been a decent amount of turnover among support services teachers, but I think it's the nature of all schools today. KTS has done a good job of managing the transitions. |
12:43 here again. I will say that if your choice is between public and KTS, it's a no brainer. If your choice is between a couple of SN schools that's different. |
