I love a good, long novel that sweeps you along. I find often they are set in some interesting time period. Some of my favorites are:
Lonesome Dove Gone With the Wind Anna Karenina East of Eden Lord of the Rings trilogy Winds of War and War and Remembrance by Herman Wouk Count of Monte Cristo Are there others in this vein that you would recommend? |

I read several in high school. The characters I liked didn't last long enough. Too sweeping! |
