I know quite a bit of olive oil is mixed with other oils or not from where it says on label.
I have always loved Trader Joe’s Greek Kalamata olive oil but they haven’t carried in since Dec 2022. I have been getting their non-Italian- sometimes from Spain, California and even Australia, but now it looks to be all from Italy or is it really? Where can I find olive oil that I trust is what it says it is? I have no friends with access to family plots. We use quite a bit, so bigger bottles would be welcome. We are in northern Virginia. |
| Costco?? |
| California Olive Ranch is pretty good. It’s available at WF. |
| +1 for California Olive Ranch. Target carries it too. |
| I use California olive ranch’s nicer stuff for salad dressing, etc and cook with the Whole Foods California stuff. |

OP, I miss that olive oil, too. I have found Greek varietal oils at Lidl seasonally. Be sure to check the year of harvest, so you won't get older bottles.
Trader Joe's carries first crop unfiltered Italian oil for a limited time in winter. When all else fails, I trust Costco's products. |

This is both hysterical and horrifying. I just learned about this a few weeks ago, we’ve been investing fake olive oil for years. Below are 2 links that convinced me to only buy a few brands. We now only buy California 100%

| PP here, ^i meant ingesting |
| Trust me OP- go to a Middle Eastern market or international store and get the Sultan brand. It comes in a gallon glass jug or metal container |
| You get real olive oil when you have olive trees, take your olives to oil mill, and then pick up your oil. It’s fresh and flowery. It’s hard to replicate this when it gets moved across continents. |
