Need some help!!! I lost 28 pounds in 5 months in a very healthy way, exercise and eating well. So, I am only 4 pounds to my goal (and it's a very healthy goal, not unrealistic) and I have had to worst 2 weeks eating. I just got on scale and I gained 3 pounds in the last week! I didn't go crazy eating so I was shocked that I gained so much. Up til now, it was steady 1 pound a week.
Now I'm in a funk and feel hungry all the time again like in beginning. Help me get over this hump, has anyone else been there so close to goal? |
| Kick that butt into gear lady!!! And put down that cookie. You're almost there, reward yourself when you're done. You're slacking prematurely. |
| Even though you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, you're not basking in the sunshine yet. |
| Get back on your schedule and eating right and you'll get there soon! good luck. I've got 5 more lbs to get to my first goal (pre-baby weight), but have a 2nd goal of 10 more lbs to lose after that. |

Get back on your program, and drink lots of water -- that will help curb your hunger, and hydrate you. I would guess that a chunk of your 3-pound weight gain is water weight as a result of the salt/alcohol/whatever you've been eating the last couple of weeks that you feel you shouldn't have been eating.
And, good for you for losing 28 pounds and being close to your goal weight! That's a huge accomplishment in and of itself, and if you buckle back down you'll be at your goal in no time! |
| Analyze your eating. I bet it's more emotional than you realize. Did the heat get to you? Is the summer schedule taking its toll? If you work, is something going on there that's annoying you? That kind of thing. I'm down 30 and went through a bad stretch about a month ago. I've got 15 to go ... |

OP here thanks for kind messages. I spent last three days back in the saddle and the scale went down 2 pounds. Last poster was right on with emotions. My husband quit his job last month (with my support) and I have been all out of sorts with that aftermath. While we have 1 year of expenses saved up for such event, having him around all the time has been throwing off my schedule (I work at home alot) and overall I am getting annoyed that he hasn't been helping more with house stuff now that he has more free time. However, he has been kicking butt on the job front, had 5 interviews already.
So--I am aware of this stress and am going to try to plan out my workouts more and stay focused. Sometimes it's hard I feel I have to support so much but don't get enough support myself. I am going to get there somehow. |
