MCSL folks: How much does your banquet cost and who caters it? We always have ours at the pool (which we all like) but the catering options keep getting worse despite our ticket costs going up. We are paying $20-30/ticket in addition to needing to bring our own drinks and apps. Curious to know what others are doing. |
Nvsl but our banquet is paid for out of team funds. It’s byob for adults who want an adult beverage but the meal and nonalcoholic drinks are provided.
We have our banquet outdoors since we don’t have an indoor space large enough, so cost includes a tent and rental of table and chairs. Comes out to about $10K |
That’s a huge budget. What size is your team? |
Ours is held at the pool and is mostly potluck, but supplemented a little by the team funds. Pizza, bbq, etc. but mostly potluck. |
The families bring their own food to ours. |
Adding that we have it on deck at the pool or in a room at a nearby church. It varies. |
Over 200 |
Doesn’t sound very banquet-like to me. This sounds like our Friday socials for those who prefer not to purchase food. |
We do it at a country club. It’s $20/adult, $15/teen, $10 for younger kids. It’s paid for by sponsorship. |
^^ We do a CC also and similar pricing. Food is decent and it’s indoors. |
We get Urban BBQ supplemented by potluck sides and desserts. Have held it outside at the pool since Covid; prior to that we rented a school cafeteria. We’re a relatively low budget team. I honestly can’t remember if we pay a ticket cost; I don’t think so. |
We do it at a community center and catered BBQ and it s $20 for adults and $15 for kids. |
I know, but they call it the Swim Team Banquet. 🤷♂️ |
We’ve also don’t CC and it’s $30 for adults and $20 for kids. Inflation. |
We don't have food, just an ice cream for each kid. Parents bring their own beverages. |
