Hangers- what type do you use?

Anonymous
I think I need to overhaul my hangers.
Been using a mish mash of leftover.. some drycleaning hangers that I keep meaning to drop but don't get around to it.
I do like it that some are really thin.. I'm a chronic over stuffer of things in my closet.

I like the price of the sturdiness of the plastic hangers.
Saw some at costco that have some velvet grips.

Help me overthink this!
What do you use? And are all your hangers in the closet all the same?

Thank you!

I use the Costco ones with the velvet.

Plastic. Some thicker than others depending on where or when I got them. Some wood hangers for DH suits. A few padded for knits.

I only like the plastic ones. But they aren't thin.

Mostly velvet ones because there’s no slipping, and some padded for special pieces

IKEA wooden hangers.

The velvet ones

I use the thin velvet ones and my mother thinks I’m a psychopath.

OP, this is a great overthinking project!
Velvet hangers are the best for items that would get stretched out shoulders on a plastic hanger but having those thicker plastic ones are good for certain items. I use velvet the majority.

I have a mix. The velvety ones are a pain when items get hung up on them. There's too much friction to easily slip items on/off. But I use them to save space. Mostly I like the plastic ones for ease.

I have 2 closets in my bedroom. One has all brown wooden hangers. The other has all white wooden hangers.

I use the thin velvet ones.

What I haven't been able to find is good skirt hangers. I've tried the clips you can attach to the velvet hangers and they don't grip tightly enough. Suggestions?

Shirts go on flat “velvet”/flocked hangers.

Matching outfits get hung on flat “velvet”/flocked (suit?) hangers with the pants on the crossbar and the shirt hanging over them.

Hangers are hung from the 5-hole space-saving drop down hangers.

Pants go on tiered vertical hangers that have swing out arms.

I use straight pins to pin them to wire hangars.

Wooden hangers, a few padded sweater hangers, and velvet + shoulder indentations for strappy items.
