Neil Gaiman accused of sexual assault

Welp. I'm not surprised that Mr Polyamorous has been forcing himself on 20-somethings even though he's in his 60s now.

Tortoise Media, IMO, is a serious media outlet and not really a gossip rag. I have to believe they investigated these allegations before deciding to publish this.

Never liked Gaiman much compared to Terry Pratchett, whose legacy I feel he has tried to "own" (the second season of Good Omens had NONE of Pratchett's voice in it), but it's still very disappointing. Not remotely surprising, but disappointing for sure. Turns out the geeky author is a creep.

Really grossed out by how his fans are defending him and putting this down to "kinkshaming". Um no, actual consent issues, power differentials (one of the victims was his young nanny) and r*pe allegations.

On Reddit they're arguing that it's consensual. Appalling. One of the victims is a lesbian and Neil Gaiman has literally accused her of having false memories/being delusional.

This shouldn't be a surprise, but it honestly sucks to see yet another one of my heroes revealed like this.

Oh nooo i love his books. Stupid men and their d**ks. They can they not just control themselves?! Argh.

I knew there was something deeply creepy about his breakup with Amanda Palmer.

To be honest his comics always had that crap in them I’m not surprised

How unfortunate.

Yeah, but I always knew there was something off about their relationship. They both boasted about how progressive and poly they were and how they had a great "open marriage" with lots of communication. I honestly wondered if Amanda was his enabler and if she married him to promote her music.

His novels are also kinda misogynistic and his protagonists - like in Stardust and Neverwhere - give off unfaithful f**kboy vibes. So so different from his buddy Terry Pratchett, who consistently wrote real equality into his books. That's why season 1 of Good Omens is actually good and season 2 is a total mess.

Ughhh I am so sad now.

I mean, that article is substance-less BS. Did you read it?

This is complete unsurprising.

Wow, the Gaiman fanboys take their denial to this level?

At this point I don't know what's more disillusioning: Neil Gaiman, or some of the fan reactions.

Not only does that article have detailed claims, it also has four podcast episodes that include Neil Gaiman's actual voicemail recordings.

Are you also one of the people claiming this entire thing is a Conspiracy of the Evil TERFs?

Details such as a 3-week sexual relationship with some encounters that were nonconsensual? That sounds like regret sex, which is a sad thing, but not abuse.
