| Bought an apple pie from Wegmans and was suprisingly disappointed. Apples were chalky, flavor was bland, bottom crust was mushy. Any solid grocery store recommendations? Apple, cherry, etc. Not looking to spend $40 on a fancy bakery pie. |
| Whole foods |
| Word is that Aldi has good apple pies. |

this is the thing where you can't just generally say X store has great baked goods. You find one that is good because they got lucky enough to hire a good baker.
Not true about cookies, bread or even cakes (mostly) but definitely pies and pasteries. |
| Fruit pies are generally going to be a sore disappointment for the same reason that "fruit pie filling" in a can is a disappointment. Stick to Key Lime. |
| The Dutch Apple Pie at Giant is surprisingly good. |

Balduccis
|
| Whole foods as a surprisingly decent cherry and mixed berry pie. Dont like their apple or peach. The cherry filling is tart. |
| Costco’s is good |
I doubt ours are baked in store... |
They also make good pumpkin pie during Thanksgiving. |
| Wegman's. |
Second this! |
Balducchi’s does have fabulous fruit pies. Not too sweet. Nice crust. |
Where? I’ve only seen these in the freezer section. Haven’t seen a pie in the bakery. |
