Extra travel time for red line summer closure

Has anyone used the shuttle buses for the red line closures (Glenmont-Takoma/Fort Totten)? I need to take a trip downtown next week, during rush hour, and am wondering how much time the bus portion will add to the trip. I’m busing specifically between Forest Glen and Fort Totten, but am grateful for anyone’s experience with the Glenmont-Fort Totten closures, including wait time for the shuttle.

This post states 50 minutes for FG to Fort Totten shuttle. That seems super long.
