Irregular cycle is nonexistent

I have a very irregular period after going off birth control in the beginning of April. I've only had it once since. I went to the dr. and when I told him my situation he ordered blood work. The blood work came back telling me I have extremely low progesterone levels and I have not been ovulating at all. He prescribed 10 days of prometrium to start up my period and then once I get it 50 mg pills of clomid on days 4-7 of my cycle. Everything is to be taken orally. Has anyone gone through something similar? Any advice?

The only thing I have to contribute is that I have never heard of clomid on days 4-7 it's usually always 3-7 or 5-9

i didn't ovulate after d&c early this year and was given prometrium to 'jump start' my cycle. i took it, got a period, and my cycle resumed on its own. did the doc not mention seeing if your cycle came back on its own before going the clomid route? did you have regular periods before bc?

I had the same probelam and was diagnosed w/pcos. Maybe give it a month or two to see if you get back on track. if not, go see an RE.

I did have periods every 3-7 weeks before birth control but that was more then 10 years ago. My doctor says its up to me - I could continue to wait which I've been doing since April or I could start the clomid if my period does come after I am done with the prometrium which is in 3 more days.
