| Hi, everyone, do you known how to calculate the GPA after finishing 11th grade? I see the top students GPA is over 4.6 after 11th grade. I am wondering the 4.6 GPA is the GPA of only 11th grade, or it is the average GPA of 9th, 10th, and 11th grade GPA? If it is the later, it is nearly impossible to get the average GPA of over 4.6 for 3 years ,because in 9th grade, in Fairfax county high schools , the nearly all courses are honors or regular. So the highest GPA of 9th grade is about 4.42. If a student gets all A grade in most AP courses for 3 years, the highest GPA for 3 years is only a little over 4.40. How to calculate the GPA after 11th grade when applying college? I'm confusing very much! Please explain if you know! Thanks ! |

Some kids take more than 7 courses (an online course), some can take AP courses starting in 9th, etc.
My rising junior has a 4.5+ already in FCPS. |
| Strip the weighting. The best colleges do. |

There are several classes to take ealy on that give that GPA a boost. And yes, that GPA that you see under Course History in sis parent vue is an average for all HS classes taken.
My rising senior as 4.54w/4.0uw They took 3 HS classes in 7th/8th and 2 were honors (Alegebra - 4.5 and Geometry - 4.5 and Language 4.0) so going into HS they were at a 4.33 Then Freshman year had 4 HN - Math, English, Science, History - so extra 0.5 on those Sophmore year - 2 IB (extra 1.0) for Math, Science and 2 HN (extra 0.5) for English and Govt (took PE over the summer before pass/fail so no grade) Junior year - 7 IB (1 was only 1 semester though with the other semester Psychology so no bump) |
