Yoto regular or Yoto Mini?

Which one is better?

Mini has been great for us! My kid takes it everywhere. Love that thing.

We have both and much prefer the Mini! The Original is HEAVY and I'm always worried my kids (2 and 3.5) will drop it. (Whereas the Minis have been dropped several times in their silicone cases and are still kicking).

We bought the Original for my 94yo grandma, who no longer had the fine motor control to operate buttons on her CD player, but could manage the Yoto cards for a while. We put all of her favorite musicals on Make Your Own cards and she loved it! The big bright screen was perfect for her. Once she was all done with it, it came back to my house, but it basically never gets used because the kids prefer the Minis.

Another vote for the mini! We love it, bring it in the car for road trips, and use it daily at bedtime

My son is getting a mini after surgery this summer. He’s 3.5….any favorite cards? Anything to know about buying them? Amazon doesn’t seem to have as good a selection as the Yoto website. Is there anywhere else that has them?

I would get cards of books he knows. We love frog and toad, Dalmatians, llama llama, and the gruffalo. We buy from Yoto directly and have the subscription.

I agree with most everyone, the mini is very convenient, but we originally got the regular and I loved it, it is definitely bigger, but I liked having it when traveling bc then we always had a nightlight, which is the main difference, other then size. I also generally have my 3.5yr old use the big one at bedtime now bc otherwise she's kinda toss around the tiny one and she likes the light.

For the previous person that asked about cards, I definitely agree with getting some of the ones with their favorite characters, that'll get them interested, for a while my kid would ONLY listen to like a paw patrol stories and frog& toad cards, but then they branched out after a couple months. And after they do I highly recommend fairytale hairdresser!

Definitely the mini. We have 2 minis and one regular. No one likes the regular. It's big, bulky and doesn't do anything that the mini doesn't do. We really regret our regular one.

Love the mini for my 3 yr old and 18 month old!

definitely take advantage of the "make your own" yoto cards. I have downloaded anything from audio books to spotify playlists to put on the yoto. I even recently just downloaded a bunch of thomas the train episodes (they have very descriptive language, so the tv episodes can sound like an audiobook). the make your own cards give you so many options!
