Northern VA Montessori Schools

| Considering Montessori schools for ADHD and learning disabled son who is entering 6th grade. He is 2-3 years behind his peers. His public school is an epic disaster and we are unable to place him in a specialized private school because he is so behind his peers. Wondering if anyone has experience with Montessori schools in the Northern Virginia area and/or if these schools are even the right thing to consider. We have reading and math tutors in place, we are doing another round of neuro/psych/education evaluations, and we have an intake call with an IEP consultant, but his public school is such a complete failure at evaluating him and writing/meeting IEP goals, that we feel like we have to find somewhere else to place him. Though son is dealing with anxiety (treatment being sought) he is not a behavior problem. He severely lacks self-confidence and is academically very behind. |

| I hope you found a better academic environment for your son. Did you end up doing Montessori? If so, how did it go? |

| You should talk with a special ed attorney not an IEP consultant whatever that is. Get actual expert advice. |
