| My engineer/contractor applied for permits to do construction in my house. When I go to mcps permit website I don’t see them pending but the contractor keep telling me it is pending. I’m searching by address and see the original permits when my home was built 10 years ago. Is this common? Are they lying or is it just not showing up on my search? |

Call the permit office. They are usually pretty helpful and are used to getting a tone of calls from homeowners asking how to navigate the process.
It a matter of minutes they can answer your question definitively - unlike DCUM |
+1. But yes, there are definitely cotractors/engineers/architects out there who tell their customers that they pulled the permit but never did. It's amazing how bad some of these contractors are at pulling permits. |
| I don't know about mcps, but I was able to see a pending application in the DC system. There are multiple permit systems - it didn't show up in the electronic records one, but did in another one. Maybe mcps has a similar issue (multiple databases). |
