Rosemary Hills Kindergarten Question?

Anonymous
We've heard great things about this school. (Our street feeds into it.) How big are the classes? I've heard they are huge. How many teachers are in the kindergarten rooms? How about the other grades? I went to a small school for elementary school so I'm just trying to fathom how large the classes are and if there are aides assigned, etc.? Thanks. We have a fall birthday so we have two years of pre-k ahead of us but we're just trying to start figuring out whether to go public or whether to also apply to private.

Read the archives, you'll find a few queries on RH - I think all the feedback that I've ever seen here has been very positive. I posted one of them a few years ago when I was in your position, and our oldest is now starting first grade there. The class sizes are on par with all other MCPS elementaries that have higher income families and strong testing track records - e.g., 22-25. The difference is that RHPS had 8 K classes last year versus many other elementaries that might have 2 or 4. The overall school size isn't a problem from my perspective since the age range is limited, I'm happy that my K student didn't have to mix in the hallways with 5th graders. The school has a fantastic parent community, very involved and supportive, and while the transition was overwhelming, our child had a wonderful experience there.
