Maxi dress length

Where should a maxi dress ideally hit? I'm 5'2 (no lectures about being too short for it). I have one I'm tripping over and need to get shortened. As long as possible without tripping? Top of the foot? Mid ankle?

Ankle bone for me unless I plan to wear with heels.

Pretty much. It say right under the medial malleolous, assuming you are wearing relatively flat shoes. That changes if you plan on wearing heels, obviously. Take the shoes you will wear with it when you get it hemmed.
