When do you stop labeling?

I no longer label hats and outerwear (\should I?) but when did you stop putting names on things like water bottles and sport equipment?

Water bottle and sports equipment is always label unless want to keep buying new and even then won’t always get back but gives a better shot. Even when older did jackets too when lots of kids have same one (usually sports team).

When they leave for college. Teenagers leave their stuff behind many places too. Label it

This. Although I lost a few coats in college too.

I am still labeling some of my things as an adult, it's not just about leaving behind, it's also taking things by mistake. We have luggage tags for a reason!

I still label everything for my rising 7th grader DD. Pretty sure I will thru HS.

It depends on the kid, but 6th for our older child. Probably never for our younger one

Never. Or when they move and then they take over labeling.

Never started

My eight year old lost a jacket at school earlier this year that was not labelled - it showed up two months later after winter break. My guess is that a parent didn't notice there were two jackets until she went to wash the kid's jacket before school started up and realized there were two. No idea if we got DD's jacket back or the other kid's but we got it back a week after I bought a new one
