Any rising 9th basketball teams still accepting new players?

NW DC or Nova based?
I realize tryouts are mostly over but are there any teams that might still allow a kid to play with the team and see if there’s a fit? |

Tryouts for most aau teams were months ago. I recommend calling around to teams to see if they have openings.

| Seasons are winding down. One of my kids is done after this weekend, another has two more tournaments. Call around, some teams will have shoot arounds and open gyms in August, but most will be done playing by mid July at the latest |

| + 1 on seasons being over. It will pick back up in December but some AAU teams will run fall leagues for younger grades. Some HS run Fall leagues. |

Hi, PP. Close-in NoVA, as in S. Arlington, Shirlington, Alexandria City. Springfield, and Annandale. Fairfax and Vienna is too far out for us. |

| Check out elevate or evolution. They are both training basketball training gyms. |

OP said Vienna was too far. That rules out both of those. There is a Coach with one arm in Alexandria named Doug that everyone likes, Azzi Fudd’s mom is also well regarded as a trainer, and Team Breakdown is run by some brothers in Springfield that are also trending in this area. Their name may be Gilliam and the run a sort of basketball academy with teams, training, and everything you need. |
