Am I late to the game in not buying up

...products at TJ Maxx and reselling them on Ebay/Poshmark for double to triple the cost?

I saw some towels I liked but it wasn't a complete (enough) set so I passed on them. I searched when I got home and discovered all these sets being sold by individual sellers on those sites. Has this been going on for a bit and I am just late to realize it? A sideline or fulltime work?

I know about this in the antiques world, but towels?

Yes, you're late to the game. People have been doing this for a long time.

Can folks make a living off it? Or supplement the breadwinner?

No becuase most people aren't stupidly paying 2-3x for the towels. They can just get different ones at Target or Ikea for less.

Most of the people that I know do it for supplemental household income. I have no idea if it's worth it.

I know someone who made a living at it. It was more than just TJ Maxx and more than just towels, though, of course. Involved going to many stores, checking prices, buying multiples, and selling online.

I don't know particulars of the person's finances, but I know it was enough to support a family of three being the only employed person.
