Oh no, I love MCPS!

It's the only public school system in the nation that has a program for twice exceptional kids (gifted and learning disabled), that my now young adult was part of. MCPS has more special programs (for special needs, immersion, gifted, etc) than the majority of public school systems. My youngest has been able to take all kinds of advanced coursework in high school, which she's been very happy about.


You need to understand that people can poke fun but still appreciate the good bits!

I think we should start calling them "Super Beings". Maybe with a title change we'll attract a better class of candidate.

I heard the pickings were slim but BOE proceeded anyway. If it takes a private school a year to find a new head of school it should at least take that long to find a qualified candidate to run a huge public system of schools. I don’t know why we didn’t have an interim for a year when McKnight left.

This seems very quick, but maybe they lucked out with someone. I really, really hope this is not another scenario where if they don't work out after a year we have to pay them another $3 million to leave.
