| My husband is on a salad kick so for Father's Day would like to go to a restaurant with great salads that eat as a main dish (a place that prepares its own dressings - preferably several types of vinaigrettes, is a must). Any suggestions? DC or close in. Thanks! |
| Lauriol Plaza has a lot of salads but I don't remember them being excellent. Though I appreciated the variety as a skinny 20-something. |
Good dinner salads are surprisingly hard to find so I always make note. I don’t necessarily want a side salad with a random protein added on. Joe’s has an amazing seafood chopped salad and a couple of other entree salads. Le Diplomate has a warm shrimp salad. Mazi has a good halloumi salad! Really good. Circa has a few good entree sized salads. I doubt these would be where you’d head for your husband’s birthday, I do have to add that the restaurants in the Great American chain have good dinner salads. |

The most delicious salad in DC right now is at the food hall, Love on the Run, in the Love, Makoto building.
Get the Japanese chopped. The kale soba is also delicious. It's not really a "celebratory event" kind of place, but... it is the best salad. |

The restaurant at the Sofitel has a great lobster salad.
Via Sophia has a great octopus salad — probably other good salads as well. |
| Kafe Leopold. Ask to add protein to your choice of salad. I eat two different smaller salad usually. |

Steak Salad at Joe’s is so good. Get a glass or Oregon Pinot Noir with it.
