Does Report card affect AAP Application?

Anonymous
1st grade. Teacher is strict and gave a lot of 3s. Will it affect the AAP application?

I believe first grade report cards and Q1 of second grade are submitted with applications. Maybe Q2 as well. I would assume testing (cogat, NNAT and iready) and hope scores have more weight than grade 1 report cards

Probably but no one really knows.

My opinion is no. What I think matters more is they are scoring above grade level in iready. But really no one knows.

Everyone tries to figure out an exact cut score for tests, iReady, and the report card that guarantees admission or rejection. But it doesn't work like that. The answer is they look at all of it, including work samples and write-ups, and make a subjective determination. There are no cut scores, and any public data that does exist shows the teacher recommendation has the most weight over anything.

I assume, however, that the committee is aware that standards-based grading is incredibly subjective.

We came from a private Montessori school and got it. We only submitted a COGAT and schoolwork samples. No 1st grade report card or iReady scores.
