Humans of all ages need to stand against ageism

Anonymous
We don't know which 80 something will win this election but other humans are losing. Everyone is going to age and deteriorate , its not an option if you get to live.

However, these two humans are ruining it for every one who'll get to live past retirement age. It has become acceptable to mock, detest and demean elderly. I don't know what needs to be done and how to do it but we've to do something about it as eventually all of us will become elderly if we lived.

Elderly become invisible but sadly ones who are face of elderly like Trump, Biden, Soros, Murdoch, Pelosi and such. These greedy for wealth and hungry for power people aren't true reflection of elders of this nation.

Right. My parents are/were this age and I don't even want parent to go to Walmart alone.

One of my parents worked until age 84, as did their parent. So the candidate ages are not a big deal to me.

Depends if the person is a rage a holic with bad ideas.

When did we start refer to people as "people," and start calling them "humans?"

Annoying choice of words, OP.

I think it's OK to mock, detest and demean power hungry elderly. I mean what do these people think? That there's no-one else capable and younger? They literally put up barriers to entry to anyone, except the ones pushed up by nepotism. It's not being against ageism, it's being against ruining it for younger generations.

Because pets are people too, and this is to distinguish human people and non-human people. Or something. Ugh.

Calling people human is so dehumanizing.

Boomers need to hang it up and stop expecting everyone to cater to their greed

I agree but the problem is young people don’t get it, and our social norms don’t encourage them to educate themselves, and worse, they lead to segregation by age in our communities.

Nah it’s not. But I think calling people ‘pedestrians’ is dehumanizing. They’re walking humans, not Greek nouns!

Either way it’s the 70+ who rule this country, so ageism is not something I worry about.
