Infertility Support and Discussion

My acupuncturist told me today not to get my hopes up, but that she thought I could be pregnant.
I am 11dpo and pretty sure I am not (don't ask me why). How accurate is pulse reading to determine pregnancy? |
Op- I meant don't ask me why as in I don't really know why but I have a feeling this was not out lucky cycle.
It's something that they call "slippery" pulse that indicates pregnancy. However, only VERY experienced acupuncturists can correctly idenify it. My acupuncturist also thought I was pregnant and told me to take a test, but I was not.

My acupuncturist told me I had a "rolling pulse" twice. First time BFN, second time BFP.
I believe you can also have a rolling pulse if you have a cold or something... |
Op- she was wrong, got my period today
Honestly, I think anyone should run from an acupuncturist who tells a woman she's pregnant before a HPT. What's the purpose, especially given the number of instances when they are wrong?
The problem is that there are many acupuncturists who sell themselves as "experts" in fertility when they are totally clueless in this area.
My acupuncturist was the first to know I was pregnant for my first child. We weren't even trying to conceive and I was seeing her for non-fertility related issues. After feeling my pulse she asked, are you pregnant? I said oh, no definitely not. She said it can be a similar pulse right around your period so we determined that was it. The next week when AF never came, I took a test and got a BFP. Now that I've suffered loss and after loss since my daughter, I am starting to wonder if the acupuncture was the reason I had a healthy pregnancy and birth the first time so I will be starting it up again. However, I agree if you are seeing someone for fertility issues, I'd prefer not to be told if they think I am pregnant or not...TTC is already stressful and emotional enough!
it is very imprecise, espec at the beginning. I understand that it does get stronger as the pregnancy progresses, making it easier to "feel." Accupuncture has been proven to help w/ conception and maintaining a pregnancy, so I'd stick w/ it.
Dont' trust the pulse diagnosis. It was wrong for me, and gave me false hope that I probably wouldn't have had otherwise. Trust your gut.
