New to summer swim. Just curious how long are the A meets? Shorter than B? |
Also, that was supposed to be a question mark. |
They are shorter than B meets!
Typically much shorter! I'd say 2.5 hrs, give or take! |
Ours start at 9 and end around 12 |
Thank for the info! ![]() |
If you have young kids who aren't the fastest, there is a break before relays where you can duck out |
Consistently 2.5-3 hours. It will always be the same number of heats unlike B meets. Usually they run like clockwork as there are so many fewer DQs. |
NVSL and ours are always under 2.5 hrs. |
NVSL, ours are always done by like 11:45. We could be done earlier if we didn't take the 2 relay breaks. |
3 hours max. The pools have to open up by a certain time (usually around noon) so they stick to the schedule as best they can. |
It all comes down to a good referee and starter. |
We almost never go beyond 2.5 hours. Start at 9 and usually done around 11:15. |
Yes! The first one will likely be the longest. Rusty and/or new volunteers working out the kinks and more DQs than later in the season. |
If A meets are around 2.5 hours and they're "much shorter" than B meets, how long are B meets?!? I was assuming those were like 2.5-3 hours long, but are they longer? |
You assumed incorrectly. They tend to be longer mostly because you have more kids swimming and thus more heats. Also, the kids swimming are slower so that adds incremental time to every heat that then accumulates over the meet. Then add in more dq's and and such... |
