I’m 49 and I have my mother’s saggy triceps. I’ve done targeted exercises to firm them but it isn’t really noticeable. I feel more comfortable with tee shirts with sleeves that almost go to my elbows. Any suggestions?
Hard to find. LL Bean or Lands End may have some. My trouble is I want those sleeves but also want tunic length. Op, what you can do is buy long sleeve and cut/helm the sleeves to the length you want. Or have it tailored that way.
Shirts like this are more popular in EU brands. Check out COS, ASKET, Ted Baker, Gerard Darel, Stone Island, FloreFlore.
I wear a lot of 3/4 sleeve blouses with shorts. I think it’s a cute look and more importantly it looks good on video calls (I don’t like to look bare). Maybe look at Anthropologie and similar for blouses rather than t’s?
If it's for casual/athletic wear, consider men's. Especially if you carry any weight in the middle, the straight up and down cut of men's shirts work. Tee shirts or polos. Lately the trend is for the sleeve length to be quite short, shorter than previously, but that won't last forever.
Yes! I do the same. I wear mostly 3/4 sleeves because I have terrible upper arms. It's not that much more fabric and I don't feel self-conscious. Depending on the shirt/blouse, I will cuff the sleeves (if a linen shirt with a traditional shirt cuff) or have the sleeves altered. |
Unless it's cut well, these are not going to look good. I would just get some casual button ups and roll up the sleeves.
Jcrew slim perfect-fit T-shirt, but note that it is cut slim through the torso.
I like 3/4 length as well. But I also wear long sleeve cotton t-shirts with shorts, skirts, pants. Summer and winter.
Thanks everyone. I'll check out the suggestions. I'm a teacher and today during a graduation ceremony, I wore a button down long sleeved shirt. I was dying of heat because it was so hot in the gym. I need to find something short sleeved or 3/4 sleeved. My school has serious a/c issues and it's way too hot.

I have this shirt: https://wooland.com/products/celine-elbow-sleeve-tee-coral-red
I have to be careful not to wear it to work more than once a week. |
J. Crew has 3/4 length sleeve tees
Macy’s, Belk, Nordstrom, all sell these. Mine are casual pullovers, a few in cute floral prints, and I adore them.

Nearly to the elbow can be unflattering because it can emphasize the wider part of your arm at the joint. I think a good two inches or so above the elbow bend is more flattering. Or wear three quarter sleeves or a button down long sleeves with the J. Crew cuff.
