Dodgeball

Are kids allowed to play dodgeball at recess? Or is it banned?

Dodgeball sucked even in the 80s.
Good riddance

Always hated it.

My husband loved it (as did a lot of kids in my class growing up). Why was it banned?

They don't play dodgeball but my kids both love Doomdome. There have been a couple injuries through the years though.

I am a FCPS substitute teacher at the high school level, and have seen it played in some PE classes. Students are allowed to opt out and do alternative activities. From what I’ve seen and heard, most kids opt IN, just because it’s so much fun. They also use a smaller, softer ball these days than what all of us older folks remember using back in the day.

Our elementary school banned tag years ago. They aren’t really supposed to run around the playground at all. Haha

Banned , My kids were complaining this paste week about it being gone and looking forward to camp where it has been allowed. Anybody remember Army Dodgeball from the 80s, if a ball hit a body part you could use that part, ie an arm or a leg or was that unique to my Anne Arundel County neighborhood,

As a kid, I got a concussion playing red rover. I think some of these games can be substituted with other games that won't cause serious injuries.

Think a little while and see if you might be able to discern the answer.
