GPA Calculation

I know colleges only see semester grades (unless they ask for the breakdown)

Do they calculate final GPA based on semester grades or quarterly grades?

I thought it was by semester, but the quarterly grades are listed at the top of the report card.

It's my understanding that MCPS only has semester grades on the transcript. However, I believe colleges may access first quarter of senior year grades if desired.

GPA is calculated from semester grades only.
