Swimming posture - PT or coach?

Anonymous
I used to be able to swim 3-4 times a week but over the past year or so when I swim I get tightness in my legs and some kind of inflammation in my shoulder and elbow. I stopped swimming and saw a physical therapist and the pain went away, but they were not helpful with figuring out the cause. I’d like to start swimming again and need to see a therapist who understands swimming posture OR a swimming coach who understands physical therapy. Is there anyone like this in the Bethesda area?

If you have isolated it to swimming, I would ask a swimming coach. You probably need to tweak your form.

Thanks. Where would I find a coach who knows about proper form for an older person (I'm 52)?

You can check out coachup.com. That's how I found my running coach.
