| We’re heading there for a long weekend and celebrating a birthday. Any good restaurant recommendations? |
| For casual we like Mountain State Brewing. Good pizza and fun laidback vibe. |
| Most are casual- not too many good or high end restaurants up there. |
| What are you looking for? Dutch’s has the best crab cakes, more upscale lake vibe. Firewater is the most trendy. Both of those on the water. Deer Park Inn if you want old timey. Honi Honi if you’re looking to day drink to live music. |
| Thanks all—I appreciate the options. |
| Mountain State Brewing and Moonshadow. |
We've spent two weeks there and are foodies. They have a decent pizza and ice cream store. But good restaurants are lacking unless you think Applebee's is good. |
|
+1 to Mountain State.
Another pizza suggestion- If you have kids and a big group, going to Brenda's Pizza and getting the enormous abondanza pizza is a kick. |
| I like Brenda’s for pizza and some basic Italian. Also second the recommendation for the ice cream place (but lines often long). Pre pandemic we had a really nice meal on the patio at Ace’s Run, but haven’t been on recent trips. |
| The diner inside Englanders shop is fun, and has delicious milkshakes! |
Surprising cuz self-proclaimed “foodies”usually know their way around a map. You didn’t visit Deep Creek, there isn’t an Applebees in a 60 mile radius. |
I’m not PP but she didn’t say there was one, only that most restaurants are on par with Applebee’s. |
Agree with bolded. Just so you are not surprised, there are not many people of color at the Deep Creek. |
