thanks a lot!! |
| the county pools at the various rec centers.... |
| Upton Hills in Arlington |
| several Fairfax county rec centers have pools. Cub Run Rec Center has an indoor pool with water slides and lazy river. Water Mine at Lake Fairfax Park has slides, tubes, toddler areas, etc. |
| All of the County RECenters have pools and you can get a day fee for use at all of them. The Park Authority does not have meny outdoor pool facilities if that is what you are looking for. |
|
I usually swim at the Takoma Rec Pool (indoor w/25 meter lap lanes, a seperate 25 meter area, a kiddie pool & another swim area used for h2o polo, diving, and overflow lap swimming. They (DC parks & rec) have passes in various increments. Check it out @ http://dpr.dc.gov.DC.DPR.Programs+and+Services/Aquatic+Programs/Admission+&+Fees Good luck! |

another vote for the Fairfax county Parks & Rec system, though their pools are all indoors, I think.
also, if you have any friends who live in apartment complexes or subdivisions with pools, see if they could take you as a guest. My ex's complex has a nice pool and we get guest passes to bring friends. |
| Another vote for Upton Hills. We love it there. I think it's $8 per person for the day. |
| Not in DC but awfully close - the Bethesda public Pool on Hillandale. |
| The Fairfax Parks & Rec pools are a great option, but indoor pools are exceedingly LOUD because the screams and hoots and hollers of the kids reverberate off the walls and drive me to distraction. I suggest trying the Pirates Cove pool, which is a Parks & Rec pool down in the Pohick area ... really nice and outdoors, although a tad inconvenient location. |
