Anything wrong with the Churchill road AAP center? |
My experience is that if the base school isn't great, or if the 3rd grade AAP teacher at the base school has a bad reputation, more kids will go to the Center. If the base school is already a good school and if the AAP teachers are well liked, more kids will stay. |
Churchill road is intense and very competitive; lots of kids with “dragon mommies” pushing them. Two friends switched their kids to it for level IV, but they both later returned to our base ES. from what they told us, the culture among students (and definitely among parents) can be really judgy, unfriendly, exclusionary, etc. Both my children earned spots in level IV and were entitled to attend Churchill Road. We declined because our elementary offers level IV, plus the extra travel time meant it wasn’t worth it. We are satisfied with our decision; one kids is doing phenomenally in HS and the other is headed to TJ next year. YMMV. |
