Broken wheel stud on 2020 Subaru

Anonymous
Had this experience yesterday while trying to change a fat tire
Is it worth seeing if this is something the dealer would fix (I'm at 48K) or should I just go to a local tire shop?
FWIW I had a broken stud on another subaru 4 yrs ago, but didn't try the dealer as I was 60 miles from one

Tire shop. Whatever is closest to you. Want to minimize driving on that

Just curios what kind of Subaru? It is not something a dealer would fix for free at your mileage. You are looking to pay $100-200 to replace a stud.

Fix it yourself. It’s very easy. Pound the broken stud out and put the new stud in. Use the lugnut to tighten it in.

That’s ridiculous.

I charge people $30, plus parts, for that.

It is not that easy, especially if it is a rear wheel. You need to take the calliper and rotor off so you could see what is going on. If you start to blindly pound the stud you’ll get it stuck half way.

Well, yeah? And? You also need to jack up the car and take the wheel off, too. I didn’t mention that either, did I?

I guessed some things are just understood. Clearly I’m wrong about that.
