No one ever dreams of one day living in the DMV, and apart from the museums, does this area really have anything going for it? Feels like people settle for living here, as opposed to being the place that they want to live. |
Dumbest shower thought in the world. |
I love the area! I am no longer there though due to the cost of living. |
Uhh yes a lot of people dream of one day living here. You sound like you're surrounded by sad people. |
Idiotic and unsupportable premise, consequently useless conclusions. |
Some of us grew up here and like it. |
If having an MD and a PhD and working to cure cancer at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda is a failure...
... then you are beyond hope, OP. |
For us, there’s a large population of educated black people. We love it here. |
There are so much to do around here, for active people. |
Huh? Do people grow up dreaming of living anywhere other than maybe California or Hawaii? I grew up in Hawaii. Let me tell you, not paradise. |
For people who aren’t dumbasses there’s a lot to do. When people say they’re bored or there’s nothing to do in the DC area, I know they’re probably fat, lazy, and stupid. Also, when you say “DMV” you sound more stupid. |
I always dreamed about staying in New England and settling in some cute small city with good colleges. Unfortunately my career brought me to DC (settled down in MD) and it's just not the same. But I'm surrounded by people who are from MD and love it, and I certainly don't think of them as failures. |
Also as someone whose career is in cultural heritage, saying "DC has nothing but the museums" is both wrong, and completely writes off our world-class and incredibly varied museum scene. "Just" the museums, honestly! |
What part of the DMV?
Because Virginia doesn't have any of the things you cited as attractive about living in the DMV. So I'd say living in the D and the M is success and the V is just for born losers and MAGA types. |
I mean it's kind of cool to be in the nation's capital of the most powerful nation on earth. Sometimes it's just like, wow, this is cool.
But like paris, it's the dc people who ruin it. All the hall monitors and mouth breathers. You know who you are. |
