IVF / Egg Donor Pricing (Shady Grove / DC Area)

Anonymous
After many years of saving/planning, we are a currently going through a family building process with an egg donor and gestational surrogate.

We have been moving through that family building process with Shady Grove and were a bit surprised by some of the recent cost proposals at Shady Grove (recent shady grove pricing sheet at: https://jumpshare.com/v/sp6zt8LZKLVRac17n45A?b=sbqkXOOJEMMzHq6TFk4k). Particularly that an FET is up to $8,800 or that one donor egg cycle of IVF (inclusive of meds) is up to $26,500? Has this pricing been others experience with Shady Grove or other IVF clinics in the area? Any recommendations for clinics in the DC area that offer similar quality that people found to be more economically priced? We unfortunately, don't have insurance coverage from our employers that apply so it will all be out of pocket.

Are you a heterosexual couple and the women has a medical condition preventing her from carrying the pregnancy?

I don’t ask to be invasive and, of course, you don’t need to answer. However, if the above situation applies to you then I would look into potentially lower cost options internationally. There are more international options for the situation that I described.

If you are a gay male couple, I recommend going to a Men Having Babies conference. Actually, for any orientation, they will have up to date info and many providers available in one place for you. https://menhavingbabies.org/surrogacy-seminars/ny/?gad_source=1

I would go to Mexico. It's about 50K for everything

We did frozen donor egg shared risk for $40,000 back in 2018, with a gestational carrier. Do they still have that option?

I only did IUI with donor sperm but 5 years ago that ran me roughly $4000/cycle including the sperm, insemination, meds, etc and I know costs have only gone up. So the numbers you’re listing sound about right to me.

$8,800 for FET is expensive. In Canada it is about $2,500 CAD.

The egg retrieval # seems about right

Check out CNY

If you only want one kiddo, I think you can buy eggs in smaller numbers, split the egg retrieval cost with somebody else
