Jersey alterations

This will probably not get a lot of responses but I thought I’d try. DS wants to get his long-sleeve GK jersey altered so that it has short-sleeves. I’ve never heard of this but another GK told him that he had this done. Does anybody know of a place in Montgomery County or NW DC? The friend who suggested it lives far away so it’s not an option to use the same tailor.

Gotta be a pretty simple cut and hem from most dry cleaners who do alterations.

Seems like somebody’s grandma could knock that out in a few days.

Why would he want his arms exposed as a GK? Lots of landing/scraping on hard ground - wouldn't he want some protection?

Long sleeves are definitely better to protect against turf burn.

It would make sense to me to wear long sleeves but for the last few years he only wants short sleeve. He says it’s more comfortable. It also appears to be a popular option among his GK circle. Even many pros now wear short sleeves. If it’s really cold then he wears UA underneath.

It gets hot on turf fields. The elbows are the only part of the arm that remotely needs any protection. My keeper prefers short sleeves during the hotter months.

We have had jerseys altered at our drycleaner. It is easy for them
